Walking Dead Season 3 EPISODE 1 and 2 REVIEW: Off to a GREAT start, but underwhelming for old users

Better late than never, thats the quote that TellTale seems to be following lately taken that all their recent releases have taken longer to arrive on Android than on other platforms. Walking Dead Season 3, the most awaited release of 2016, followed the same pattern, it released half-a-week late on Android. But after playing just the first episode, I say the wait was worth it. Note that the second episode is already out and its review will be available on Androparadise after Christmas.

Read on for the first Ep's review...
Walking Dead, TellTale's Walking Dead, started in 2012. Its first season was the first game made by TellTale for Android and it was a HUUUGE success! It won tons of awards including multiple Game of The Year titles. Season 2 released in 2013 and it had Clementine as the protagonist. Until 2nd season, Clementine was the soul and flesh of the series, but for the third season TellTale did something impressive to attract new players and to keep old players engaged as well.

Clementine is much of a side-charecter from the looks of it. Thats my thought. Javier is the main charecter right now and he has suffered loss of his family just like Clem did. Clementine is much mature now and is in her teens, voice acted by Melissa Hutchison.

Talking of gameplay, it is similar to other TellTale games. But the graphics are the highlight of the game. The game has the best imaginable graphics on a mobile. From lightings to charecter's movements, speeches to lip-synching. Everything is awesome. No wonder TellTale took time to upgrade their game engine ;)

The episode has same starting for new players and old players, but the choices of old players do matter, but just during flashbacks. I've not seen a major impact of any of my season1/season2 choices in third season yet except for a small flashback the showed the death of Jane/Kenny.

The episode is dark, intense, contains strong language like previous ones and has some really hard choices that will effect the story later on. Some players may not like the game for not giving Clem much importance,  I'm one of them, but at the same time I also think TellTale couldnt have done any better than what they've done.

The season has just started and the story already has me gripped. It will be very exciting to see where it heads and what happens in the end. We dont know if this is the last season or not, but I sure as hell dont want it to be the last. After episode 1, we still dont know whereabouts of Christa, Lilly and AJ.

The game is a must play, as all other TTGames :D
