Trading is coming to Pokemon GO as well!

Trading will soon be a part of Pokemon Go. John Hanke, CEO of Niantic Labs, confirmed this development during yesterday’s Pokemon Go panel at SDCC. A future update in the game will add the option to trade Pokemon, which is set to bring back all the nostalgia.

All the previous games in the Pokemon franchise starting from the very first game Pokemon Red and Blue has had trading as their integral part. Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary game designer proposed the idea of having two versions of game with each one having their own set of Pokemon in order to promote trading in the game.

However, the beta test version of Pokemon Go also had trading as its part although it was limited to local trading. There was an option for the players of the game to search for trading partners and request them for a trade.

The players at the other end could either accept the request or reject it. Even it’s not yet certain whether the final version will have only a local trading option we hope that Pokemon Go would have an option to trade world wide with the help of internet.

Earlier, John Hanke had mentioned trading as a ‘core element’ of the game. Once trading becomes a part of Pokemon Go, the players will be able to get some Pokemon which are region specific without travelling much.

However, the developers would have a challenging task of making sure introducing trading doesn’t break the game and players aren’t able to exploit the feature to gain an unfair advantage over others.
